Hi. My name is Alan Christ.
I am from Iowa in the U.S.A.. I come from a very small town with a population of 1,000, so I think Hofu is very large. I really, really like to play Frisbee. My other favorite sport is baseball. My favorite team in Japan is the Hiroshima Carp. I also like the Daiei (oops! Softbank) Hawks. I am looking forward to the start of the season. Maybe I can see the Carp play in the Japan Series.
I went to the University of Iowa and graduated with a degree in History and Education. I also have a Master's Degree from the University of Washington in Teaching English as a Second Language. I have been teaching English in Hofu for over twenty years.

ハロー。私の名前はアラン・クリストです。アメリカ合衆国アイオワ州の小さな町から来ました。故郷の人口が１０００人くらいなので、防府市に比べると、防府市の方がとても大きいと思います。趣味はフリスビーをすることです。野球も好きで、好きな野球チームは広島カープと（元ダイエー）福岡ソフトバンクホークスです。
アイオワ州立大学を歴史と教育学の専攻で卒業し、後にワシントン州立大学大学院で英語が母国語ではない人達に英語を教える英語教授法（Teaching English as a Second Language)の修士課程を学び、修士号を取得しました。防府市で２０年以上も英語講師として活動しています。
県内の大学で非常勤で教えたり、企業で教えたりした経験から多くの方々がTOEICの成績を上げたいと熱望されているので、より効果的な問題集が必要だと思い執筆したTOEICの問題集（新TOEICテスト　はじめてでも600点が取れる！）が成美堂出版社より全国発売され、多くの方々から支持されベストセラーになっております。紀伊国屋書店などではお勧め本のベスト５の中に常時入っております。

＊ご本人からの自己紹介＊
My name is Inna Veliganova.
I am from Toronto, Canada. I have two degrees from the University of Toronto. – a Bachelor of Arts in History and Geography, and a Bachelor of Education. I wanted to be a teacher. So, after I graduated University of Toronto, I went to Ontario Institute for studies in Education, University of Toronto to get a teaching certification.
I came to Japan to learn about Japanese customs and I’ve learned a lot through my students and friends. My favorite foods are sushi and yoghurt.
I really enjoy teaching the students at Hiraoka English Academy and I look forward to helping our students excel at speaking, reading, and writing English.
I hope to see you at our school !!

私はイナ・ベリガノバです。カナダのトロントから来ました。
私は二つの学士号をトロント大学で取得しました。それは歴史・地理の学士号と教育の学士号です。
私は先生になりたかったので、卒業後、トロント大学の教育学部に行き教員免許を取得しました。（カナダは大学を卒業した後でないと教育学部には行けないので）
日本の文化を学びたくて日本に来ました。生徒の方々や日本人の友達から多くのことを学んでいます。好きな食べ物はお寿司とヨーグルトです。
平岡イングリッシュアカデミーで英語を教えるのがとても楽しいです。生徒の皆さんの英語のスピーキング・リーディング・ライティングの上達のお手伝いができるのがとても楽しみです。
